One year after a gas explosion leveled three homes in north St. Louis County, the neighborhood is still recovering. Some homeowners have chosen to move, while others are rebuilding.
The blast happened the morning of Aug. 25, 2025, at 13830 Even Aire Drive. The explosion leveled three homes and started a large fire.
Five people were hurt, including 18-year-old Dante Anthony Jr., who was in the basement of the house where the explosion occurred. He suffered burns on 85% of his body while climbing through the flames to escape.
