Firefighters are investigating an explosion that happened at a Raleigh home on Tuesday night.


WRAL News spotted several firefighters around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Yarmouth Road.


Firefighters said they were investigating it as a possible gas explosion. When they got to the home, they noticed the lower level of the home had some windows broken out.


Firefighters later determined that a lightning strike had hit a gas line, which caused it to leak. When the homeowners turned the circuit breakers back on, firefighters say that led to the explosion.
