Firefighters in Lancaster County were called to a home on Chadwick Circle in Lancaster Township Saturday for a reported water heater explosion.

Lancaster Township Fire Chief Justin Brian said an investigation revealed that the explosion was actually from a gas leak and an ignition source in the house, and was not caused by the water heater.

Brian said the single occupant of the home, who was in the basement at the time of the explosion, went to the hospital for burns.

She had significant burns to their face and legs.

The home was condemned because of the damage.
